Frequently Asked Questions
How does the summariser work?
Text is extracted from your PDF locally in the browser. If the PDF is a scan with no selectable text, it's automatically OCR'd. The extracted text is then sent to an AI model that returns an executive summary, key points and topic tags.
What about scanned PDFs?
When no text layer is found, the app runs Tesseract OCR in your browser at 220 DPI, then feeds the recognised text into the summariser.
Is my document uploaded?
Text extraction and OCR run entirely on-device. Only the extracted text is sent to the AI provider for summarisation and Q&A.
What size PDFs are supported?
Anything you can render in the browser. Very long documents are truncated to 200,000 characters before summarisation to keep the model focused.
How accurate are the answers?
The Q&A model is instructed to answer strictly from the document. If a fact isn't in the PDF, it says so instead of guessing.
